How to get there

Getting to Barcelona
The city is served by Barcelona airport which is located 12 km / 7.5 miles south-west at El Prat de Llobregat, near to the Mediterranean coast of Spain. As Barcelona becomes an increasingly popular tourist destination, the city becomes even easier to reach, with frequent flights and good connections from all over the world. Barcelona airport is also sometimes known as Barcelona-El Prat or El Prat de Llobregat airport. The airport is linked to the city by regular trains and buses.

Barcelona has three terminals, which serve many airlines, travelling to a wide range of locations:

Terminal A - serves many airlines and these include Aeroflot, Air Algerie, Air France, Air Malta, Alitalia, AlpiEagles, BMI Baby, Braathens, Czech Airlines, Delta Airlines, Easy Jet, Egyptair, German Wings, Go Fly LTD, Icelandair, Khalifa Airways, KLM, LOT (Polish Airlines), Luxair, Meridiana SPA, Olympic, Portugalia, Royal Air Maroc, SN Brussels, Sterling Europe, Swiss, TAP, Tarom, Transavia Holland, Tunis Air, Turkish Airlines, Virgin Airlines and Volare Airlines
Terminal B - serves Air Berlin, Air Dolomiti, Air Europa, Air Littoral, Air Ukraine, Australian Airlines, British Airways, El-Al, Finnair, Iberia, Lufthansa and Spanair
Terminal C - serves the 'Puente Aéreo', which is an air shuttle service operated by Iberia Airlines, connecting Barcelona and Madrid. Terminal C also serves general airline companies. 

Getting to the exhibition venue from Barcelona Airport
There are 3 main ways to get to the exhibition venue from Barcelona Airport:
 
1) Aerobus (Express bus service) - You catch the Aerobus outside 2 of the airport terminals and get off at Placa Espanya. Travel time approx 30 mins. Price 5.00 euros.
 
2) RENFE Train and Metro
Catch the RENFE Train from the airport to Barcelona Sants and then change at Barcelona Sants for the metro (Subway) to Placa Espanya. Travel time Approx 40 mins. Price 3.00 Euros for RENFE ticket and 1.40 euros for Metro Ticket. Total 4.40 Euros.
 
3) Taxi
There is a large taxi rank service directly outside the airport. The price to the city centre is around 22.00 Euros plus a small supplement for each suitcase that you have. Current prices are posted inside the airport. Travel time approx 20 mins.



Getting to the exhibition venue from within Barcelona
Barcelona is very well connected by several transport systems.

Road
Motorways and roads: access to the Montjuic exhibition site

Metro
Both lines have exits for the Montjuic venue:
Line 1 - station "Espanya"
Line 3 - station "Espanya"

Bus
The following bus lines allow access to the Montjuic venue from any part of the city of Barcelona:
9, 13, 27, 30, 37, 50, 56, 57, 65, 79, 91, 109, 153, 157
 
The regular number 79 metropolitan bus also links Gran Via to Montjuic and other areas of Barcelona. 
 
FGC  Ferrocarrils
The nearest stop to the Gran Via exhibition site is the station “Europa/Fira”. This is directly linked to Montjuic. All routes that leave or enter the “Plaça Espanya” FGC station stop at “Europa/Fira”.

Renfe
"Sants Estació" is the nearest Renfe station. It's the main centre of a comprehensive rail network that connects the entire coast and some inland areas to the Montjuic facilities. The station is linked to the Montjuic exhibition site by:

- Bus number 30 and 109 which have stops in Plaça Espanya
- Underground line 1 (red) and 3 (green), "Espanya" station
- A 15 minute walk (down Tarragona street)
